You’ve reached the homepage of the Online Media Group scholarly talks group.  The group organises talks and seminars for academics interested in the political use, implications, and study of new and emerging media. The group presently runs talks on a monthly basis in the Sydney-Canberra area.

About

The objective of this group is to establish a forum for the discussion of new media politics and political communication related scholarship and research.  The aims are to:

1. Develop and cultivate a community of scholarship,
2. Encourage  productive exchanges between researchers working withing this field,
3. Support meaningful and productive collaborations, and
4. Cement the study of this area within the Australian academy.

Participation

Participation in this group, through attendance at OMG! events, is open to all scholars and postgraduate students with an interest in new media politics.

Membership

OMG! is organised by a volunteer group currently comprised of Ariadne, Jason and Peter.  Additional volunteers are welcome.
